Kanye West and kids run around store in surreal clip.
NEW YORK, NY [Tuesday Oct.25.2005] /WMQT.com/ -- Kanye West and director Michel Gondry have transformed New York City's Macy's department store into a surreal Christmas world for the rapper's new video, "Heard 'Em Say."
If you're not familiar with Gondry, he's the man who turned the White Stripes into Legos for the duo's innovative "Fell In Love With A Girl" clip. He also directed the movie "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" and the forthcoming documentary, "Dave Chappelle's Block Party."
In the "Heard 'Em Say" clip, Kanye and his fictional family spend the night having fun in Macy's. Maroon 5's Adam Levine, who sings on the song, also guest stars in the video. Levine plays a Macy's security guard who lets the family into the store, reports MTV.com.
The video features special effects to enhance the fantasy world Kanye and the children enter when they go to Macy's. There are dancing men's suits, and sofabeds that move to the beat, and the performers even drive a police-car bed.
"Heard 'Em Say" was filmed overnight in New York at the Macy's flagship store on 34th Street while the store was closed.
There's no word yet when Kanye's "Heard 'Em Say" video will premiere, so stay tuned.
