Green Day, Franz, Snoop Dogg design wristbands for charity.
LONDON, UK [Friday Nov.18.2005] /WMQT.com/ -- Green Day, Franz Ferdinand, Snoop Dogg and the Killers are among the musicians banding together for charity.
These artists have teamed with the charity artwork project 21st Century Leaders to design unique wristbands to raise money for worthy causes. The campaign is called "Whatever It Takes," and it aims to raise $3 million over three years for various charities.
The wristbands come in different colors and feature artwork and sayings contributed by each artist.
Green Day's black and red wristband benefits Greenpeace. Franz Ferdinand's wristband reads "Throw Away Your Old Guns" and helps the Brit Trust and Trade Plus Aid.
The black, green and red wristband designed by rapper Snoop Dogg reads "Love 'n' Let Love," and proceeds from its sale benefit the Snoop Youth Football League.
Each member from the Killers also designed a band, with the proceeds going to Greenpeace, The Toothfairy Foundation, and Rights and Humanity. And the Foo Fighters' wristband, which reads "Take Life By The Horns," benefits Save the Children.
Other artists who designed wristbands for the project include David Bowie, Joss Stone, Paul McCartney, Scissor Sisters, Ozzy Osbourne, Velvet Revolver, Funeral For A Friend, and Anthrax.
Most bands cost $5.41 each, plus any applicable shipping, and are available at
