Kanye West, Musicland giving away money for college.
SANTA MONICA, CA [Monday Dec.5.2005] /WMQT.com/ -- Kanye West wants you to go to college.
That's why the rapper has hooked up with music retailer Musicland for the Free U. College Giveaway contest. One winner will receive $150,000 to put towards his or her college education.
According to RollingStone.com, West will kick-off the national sweepstakes with a free performance today, December 5th, in at Santa Monica High School in Santa Monica, California.
In related news, Kanye West is currently in the final stages of his "Touch The Sky Tour" tour in support of his second solo album "Late Registration." West will also support U2 on the last four dates of the Irish rockers' North American 2005 Vertigo Tour. West opens U2's sold-out concerts in St. Louis, Missouri (December 14th); Omaha, Nebraska (December 15th); Salt Lake City, Utah (December 17th) and Portland, Oregon (December 19th).
