Mariah Carey and Mississippi rockers 3 Doors Down are among the artists scheduled to perform on "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve 2006" special, airing December 31st on ABC.

Carey will make history as the first singer to perform live on the program from New York City's Times Square, where nearly a million people are expected to gather for the New Year's Eve festivities.

Other artists scheduled to perform during "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve 2006" include the Bangles, Chris Brown, Sean Paul, The Pussycat Dolls, Sugarland and 311.

Dick Clark returns to co-host the 34th annual "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve," along with Ryan Seacrest and Hilary Duff. Clark was forced to miss last year's special while he recovered from a stroke.

"Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve" airs Saturday evening, December 31st, on ABC, and the special will consist of two parts. "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve 2006, Part 1" airs from 11:35 p.m. to 1:05 a.m., ET/PT and includes musical performances, plus the traditional countdown and ball drop from Times Square. "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve 2006, Part 2" airs from 1:05 to 2:05 a.m., ET/PT and includes additional performance by all of the musical acts.
