NEW YORK, NY [Tuesday Dec.27.2005] /WMQT.com/ -- He's a rock star, political activist, and a tireless advocate of the poor. And now Bono is also one of Time Magazine's "Persons of the Year" for 2005.
The U2 frontman joins Bill and Melinda Gates as Time Magazine's "Persons of the Year."
The annual year-end issue of "Time" features Bono on the cover standing beside Bill and Melinda Gates. "Time" chose the three as its Persons of the Year for their commitment to increasing awareness about global poverty and disease and their work to combat it.
"For being shrewd about doing good, for rewiring politics and re-engineering justice, for making mercy smarter and hope strategic and then daring the rest of us to follow, Bill and Melinda Gates and Bono are Time's Persons of the Year," Time writes in its December 19th issue.
